A Manchester cardiologist who blew the whistle on allegations of a Medicare fraud scheme by Catholic Medical Center was awarded $570,000 out of a penalty of $3,800,000 assessed against the hospital. Our client had filed suit under the federal False Claims Act as a confidential whistleblower. CMC did not admit liability as a part of the settlement.

Attorney Chuck Douglas represented the physician in the suit filed in the U.S. District Court in Concord. “Every year millions and millions of dollars are returned to the taxpayers by those in the medical field who have come forward to expose illegality,” said Douglas.

The case was settled on February 8, 2022.
